| It's been a while. I've been super busy, but I think I'm over the hump. I probably won't be up to my previous posting rate, but I will try to get a couple photos put up each week. I'm also going to try to stick with quality over quantity. I broke down and bought Nikon Capture NX. I just can't match the results any other way. (At least not without a lot of practice I don't have time for.) From now on, most of the pictures you will see here are probably either edited or tweaked in NX. And, even if you use another RAW converter or shoot JPGs, you should try tweaking a few JPGs in NX. My usual approach is to start with the the most dynamic range I can get, the use NX to dial it up in a controlled way. Yes, it's a resource hog, but, the results and intuitiveness are worth it. IMHO. Oh, and this picture is from last spring. I have Gigs of pictures I held back to work with in RAW. I need to get after them before I run out of HD space. :) |
